Liftline — Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 6, 2026

1. Introduction

Caradhras Technologies, Inc. ("Liftline," "we," "our," or "us") operates a platform that connects skiers and snowboarders. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and your choices regarding your information.

By using Liftline, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

When you create an account and use Liftline, you may provide the following information:

  • Account information: Phone number, email address (optional).
  • Profile information: Display name, birthdate, gender, bio, profile photos, skill level, sport preference, mindset, terrain preferences, home city/town, favorite resorts, and ski pass type.
  • Communications: Messages you send to other users through the Service.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use Liftline, we automatically collect certain information:

  • Location data: With your permission, we collect your precise geographic location using your device's location services. Location data is used to show you nearby users and to display your approximate distance to other users. You may disable location services at any time through your device settings, but this will limit core functionality of the Service.
  • Usage data: We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including screens viewed, features used, and timestamps of activity. We use PostHog, a product analytics platform, to collect and analyze this usage data. PostHog receives anonymized event data (such as which features you use and how you navigate the app) but does not receive personally identifiable information such as your name, email, or phone number.
  • Device information: Device type, operating system, browser type, and screen resolution.
  • Log data: IP address, access times, and referring URLs.

Information from Third Parties

  • SMS verification: We use Twilio to verify your phone number during account creation. Twilio processes your phone number to deliver verification codes. Twilio's privacy policy governs their handling of this data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
  • Display your profile to other users, including your display name, age (calculated from your birthdate — your exact birthdate is never shown to other users), photos, and other profile information you provide.
  • Show your approximate distance from other users based on your location.
  • Facilitate messaging between users.
  • Determine and display your online status to other users.
  • Send you service-related communications (e.g., account verification, security alerts).
  • Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve the Service.
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse.

4. How Your Information Is Shared

Via Public Sharing

Liftline allows users to share posts and events via public web links. When a post or event is shared this way, the content and certain associated information become viewable on a publicly accessible web page that does not require a Liftline account to view.

For shared posts, the publicly viewable information includes:

  • The post content (text, photos, location, and reactions)
  • The author's display name, username, and profile photo
  • The resort and terrain associated with the post, if any
  • Replies to the post and the display names, usernames, and profile photos of users who have replied

For shared events, the publicly viewable user information may include:

  • Display names of a small number of users who have RSVP'd "going" to the event
  • Profile photos of a small number of users who have RSVP'd to the event ("going" or "interested")
  • The number of comments on the event and the profile photos of a small number of users who have recently commented — display names and the text of comments are not displayed publicly

When a public post or event link is shared on third-party platforms (such as iMessage, Slack, or social networks), those platforms may fetch and display preview metadata, including the content, associated names and profile photos, and a preview image.

Information that is not included on public post or event pages:

  • Phone numbers
  • Email addresses
  • Exact birthdates or ages
  • Precise geographic coordinates
  • Other posts or events not being shared
  • Direct messages
  • Display names of users who have commented on a shared event
  • The text of comments on shared events

If you delete a post in the Liftline app, the corresponding public web page will become unavailable. If an event is removed or cancelled, its public web page will be updated or removed accordingly. However, Liftline cannot remove copies of content that have been screenshotted, archived, or independently distributed by others before deletion.

With Service Providers

We share information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Service:

  • Supabase: Database hosting, authentication, and file storage. Supabase stores your account data, profile information, messages, and profile images.
  • Twilio: SMS verification. Twilio processes your phone number to deliver verification codes.
  • Vercel: Web hosting. Vercel processes requests to serve the application.
  • PostHog: Product analytics. PostHog receives anonymized usage data (such as feature interactions and navigation patterns) to help us understand how the Service is used and improve it. PostHog does not receive your name, email, phone number, or other personally identifiable information.

These providers are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us and are obligated to protect your information.

For Legal Reasons

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process, such as a subpoena, court order, or government request.

In Connection with a Business Transfer

If Liftline is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers operated by Supabase (database and file storage) and Vercel (application hosting), both located in the United States. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and row-level security policies on our database.

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your profile information, photos, and messages within a reasonable timeframe. Some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, resolving disputes).

7. Your Rights and Choices

Account and Profile

  • You can update or correct your profile information at any time through the app.
  • You can delete your account through the app's settings. Account deletion removes your profile, photos, posts, and messages.
  • You can delete individual posts at any time through the app. Deleting a post removes it from the Liftline app and removes its corresponding public web page.

Visibility Controls (Ghost Mode)

Liftline provides Ghost Mode privacy controls in Profile > Settings that let you limit what other users can see about you:

  • Hide online status: Other users will not see whether you are currently active on Liftline or when you were last active.
  • Hide distance: Other users will not see your approximate distance from them.
  • Hide profile from Explore: Your profile will not appear when other users browse the Explore tab. Your profile will still appear in resort-specific views if you have an active check-in or plan at that resort.

These controls can be enabled or disabled individually at any time.

Location

  • You can enable or disable location permissions at any time through your device settings.
  • Disabling location will prevent Liftline from showing your distance to other users and may limit other functionality.

Communications

  • You can manage push notification preferences through the app's settings and your device settings.

8. Children's Privacy

Liftline is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a user under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

9. International Users

Liftline is operated in the United States. If you are accessing the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy within the app or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

11. Contact

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at support@theliftline.app.
